Out of the 11 days of the Iowa State Fair this year, this probably one of the best days to get out and enjoy the atmosphere the fair has to offer. And, no, I’m not saying that because The Fray, who is playing at 8:00 p.m. at the Grandstand, is one of my personal favorite bands (I only have 10 songs of their songs in my playlist!). Why am I saying that then? The weather:
Another chilly morning is expected with 60s early with a 10-15 MPH wind, before things heat up beautifully to the low 80s. And if that temperature is too mild for you, a 15-20 MPH wind with gusts to 25 MPH will ease that issue perfectly. And all complemented by Mostly Sunny skies, it could not be any more perfect. Temperatures should stay warm through the afternoon before cooling down to the low 70s by late evening. The wind will also be dying down alongside this, so if you’re camping at the fair, it would be perfect weather for a bonfire late.
The outlook for Saturday bitters a tad. The wind will be about the same, and the temperatures also will be reaching the low-to-mid 80s, however the bigger story of the day will be the 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. This more than likely won’t be widespread by any means, but it still puts a hamper in the plans. It’d still be fine to go out, however it wouldn’t be bad to check the radar throughout the day. Things cool down quite a bit by Sunday with a high temperature of 72° and again, about the same winds, this time out of the northwest. So a brisk, chilly day – but, who cares, put on a sweatshirt and go out and enjoy the final day.
Enjoy your Friday!
