Iowa State Fair 2015 Forecast – Day 5 – Monday, August 17, 2015

Alright Carrie Underwood fans: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the weather isn’t looking good for the country mogul’s performance at 8:00 p.m. Take a breather now, and let’s look at the forecast.

The majority of the day will be rather warm: not necessarily mild or chilly. It’s what I would determine the perfect temperatures for the day being. Starting out in the low 70s in the morning, before cooking up to the low 80s in the early afternoon, and going back down through the evening. The wind will not be a pest either, staying under 5 MPH for the most part. The big story of the day will be the rain chances at each point in the period. The best chances for rain will be in the late afternoon-to-evening hours, where 60% and 70% are the common numbers… whereas elsewhere, 30%, 40%, and 50% are the common numbers. Point blank: showers and thunderstorms will be likely throughout the day. Rainfall totals will likely sit at-or-around a half inch.

Generally the same forecast for Tuesday, with low 80s for highs and breezy conditions. A much cooler day is in store for Wednesday, where highs will be in the low 70s. Along with the potential for a lingering shower and 10-15 MPH northwesterly winds, it does not sound like a good day to head out. The better days to go out will be Thursday and Friday where sunny skies, low 80s, and light winds will make a return to the forecast.

Enjoy your Monday!
