A steamy day ahead for those of you heading out to the Iowa State Fair today. It will be cool for a short time early in the low-to-mid 70s before heating up to the low 90s by mid-afternoon. There will be a slight breeze out of the southwest or south at around 10 MPH in this time frame. The mild weather won’t last too long before cooling down to the low-to-mid 80s by the time Def Leppard begins to perform at the Grandstand at 7:00 p.m.

Mild and generally dull weather will continue into Sunday before becoming more active next week. A 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms will arrive Monday with a cooler high in the low 80s. Things will only continue on a downhill path thereafter with 50% chances for both Tuesday and Wednesday with a high on Tuesday in the low 80s and cooling down to the upper 70s on Wednesday.
