RAGBRAI XLIII Day 4 Eldora to Cedar Falls

RAGBRAI will be continuing their trek across the state today as they head from Eldora to Cedar Falls for a total of 58.4 miles, 1644 feet of climb, and stops in Steamboat Rock, Cleves, Ackley, Austinville, Aplington, Parkersburg, and New Hartford. Things will likely start off cool early in the upper 5os with mostly clear conditions and calm and variable winds before things heat up to right around 80°. Skies will be partly-to-mostly sunny throughout the day with a 5-10 MPH south wind dominating the afternoon.

Things begin to cook up later on in the extended period. Thursday should be relatively non-active, weather-wise, with highs in the low 80s and a light south-southeast wind at 5-10 MPH. Things will heat up slightly Friday with mid 80s and higher humidity creating heat indices in the 90 to 95° range. Winds will be light early in the morning at 5-10 MPH out of the south-southeast before transitioning to 7-14 MPH out of the south. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible Friday night.

Saturday will be interesting with isolated shower and thunderstorm chances throughout the day. Otherwise, partly sunny conditions will prevail with a high of 86° with a 5 MPH wind out of the south in the morning and out of the west and northwest in the afternoon.
