SOME RAIN: There will be some chances of rain through the end of the week but the best chances look to be over the western and southern counties of the state. The northern and eastern counties may remain dry for the rest of the week. There will be some shower and thunderstorm activity mainly over the western and southern counties today while partly to mostly sunny skies will be found elsewhere. Highs today will be in the 70s to around 80. This will also be the case on Thursday as well as Friday with the chances of precipitation being less as we head toward the weekend.
HOLIDAY WEEKEND: There looks to be no issues with regards to the weather for the holiday weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday look to be dry and mainly sunny with readings in the 70s and 80s across the state. Saturday will be the best of the two days with slightly less humidity then. We will have a system approaching on Sunday but this model run is slower and should hold most of the precipitation chances until very late Sunday night into Monday.
NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND: A cold front will move through the state Monday into early on Tuesday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs Monday and Tuesday will be in the upper 70s through the middle 80s. As we head into the extended period, the ridge looks to set up once again across the west and with a trough over the east, this would put us in a northwesterly flow once again. This will lead to a pattern similar to what we’ve been seeing over the last week or so with chances of precipitation every few days or so. On this run, the 10th, 13th and 16th are days where the GFS shows a system moving through with said chances. Temperatures would be near to below seasonal levels if this verifies.
