Strong Storms With Gullywashers in Southern Iowa This Evening

Showers and thunderstorms continue over the southern quarter of the state. Some of the storms have become severe with large hail and some isolated damaging winds being the main threats. These storms are slowly moving off to the east and northeast around 20-30mph. These storms have also produced quite a bit of rain with some areas getting over 2″ from these storms. More of that can be expected through the evening hours as they storms move through. Another batch of storm over Nebraska will move into the state late this evening and will last into the overnight hours. These too will bring some heavy rains to the state (mainly in the northern quarter) where a Flash Flood Watch has been issued. More severe weather is on tap tomorrow as well. Stay Tuned.
