QUIET START: A short wave trough will be pulling away from the state taking the precipitation chances off to the east with it. We may see some isolated showers early in the day in our far eastern counties, otherwise the best precipitation chances today will be east of the state. We should see mainly sunny skies through Wednesday with temperatures today in the upper 70s and middle 80s, but the heat really builds in on Tuesday as temperatures are expected to soar into the lower 90s in the western counties with 80s across the rest of the state.
ACTIVE END: As we head toward the end of the week and into the weekend, a couple of systems will move into the area bringing with it the chances of showers and thunderstorms. There could be some heavy rainfall amounts during the period but we can’t pinpoint where those will be. Severe weather chances are too early to determine at this time as well. Highs during the period will be in the upper 70s through the 80s.
MOVING TOWARD THE LONGEST DAY: As we look into the extended period which takes us toward the First Day of Summer, rain chances look to linger next Monday as the system begins to move off to the east. Temperatures look to cool slightly into the 70s to around 80 through the 17th with another system bringing rain chances back in at that time. The GFS also is showing another system around the 19th and 20th that could bring some precipitation chances as well. Some cooler air looks to follow in the wake of this system to bring in Astronomical Summer on the 21st before more rain returns around the 22nd and 23rd.
