SCATTERED ACTIVITY: There will be several chances of seeing showers and thunderstorms through the rest of the week and into the weekend. It won’t be all day rains by any means and there will be numerous hours of dry time where some sunshine may peek out. Highs will be in the 70s and 80s through the weekend. Rainfall amounts through the weekend will average around an inch for most of the state however some areas will get less than that while others will get more. It will be dependent on who gets repeated activity between now and the end of the weekend.
NEXT WEEK: Some early shower chances are possible on Monday before some clearer skies move in for the rest of the day and into Tuesday as well. Temperatures will be in the 70s to lower 80s for the most part. Dew points will be lower as well so it won’t feel as humid as it will be later this week into the weekend. Toward the middle and end of the week, temperatures will start to rise a bit along with the humidity as another system looks to approach from the west by the end of the week.
LOOKING FORWARD: Looking into the extended period, a system is shown to move into the state next Friday and Saturday with decent chances of showers and thunderstorms. The GFS shows a somewhat active period through the middle of June across the area with numerous systems bringing chances of showers and thunderstorms. We’ll see if this trend of more active weather continues on future model runs over the next couple of days. Temperatures during the period will be fairly close to seasonal levels for mid-June with perhaps some cooler air around the 14-16th time period mixed in.
