The National Weather Service offices in Kansas City and Omaha have issued Flash Flood Watches for southwestern Iowa, southeast Nebraska, and northwest Missouri through tomorrow afternoon. Thunderstorms currently developing across the Plains will move east into the area, and when combined with training to the west, lavish amounts of rainfall could fall in some areas.
Any additional rainfall in already saturated areas will likely cause flooding quickly. Those in low lying areas should monitor this situation carefully and be prepared to take appropriate action should warnings be issued.
