MORE RAIN: A brief break in the rain today with plenty of sunshine across the state. Highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s. We may stay dry for most of the day on Thursday as well before the next system moves in later in the afternoon hours. This will bring us another chance of some showers and thunderstorms at that time. Highs on Thursday before the rain moves in will be similar to today with upper 70s to lower 80s across the state.
A QUIET COOL WEEKEND: The rain chances look to last through Friday before a cold front clears the state early on Saturday. This will bring some drier and cooler weather to the area for the weekend. Highs will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s across the state and dew points will be lower as well. The winds turn around to the south on Monday as temperatures warm once again.
MORE ACTIVITY: Looking into early next week, the temperatures will be back well into the 70s for the most part with some sunshine around. There will be some disturbances that will be close enough to bring some chances of showers and perhaps a thunderstorm, but at this time, the chances remain slight at this time until perhaps later on in the week.
FARTHER ALONG: Looking into the extended period, the chances of rain at the end of next week are shown on this run of the GFS along a slow moving cold front that will be in the area. This looks to last through the following weekend before skies clear out and temperatures cool off slightly before moderating to seasonal levels at the end of the period. We’ll watch for any changes.
