HOPPING INTO NEXT WEEK: There will be no issues with the weather today. Mostly sunny skies will be seen across the state with temperatures in the 60s and lower 70s for highs. The weather pattern turns unsettled as we head into next week with several rounds of showers and thunderstorms possible. This doesn’t look to be all day rains by any means as there will be some dry time between rounds, but any sunshine will be little if any Monday through early on Friday. Rainfall amounts of an inch or more are possible by Friday morning for most places across the state. Readings this work week will be in the 50s and 60s for the most part with perhaps some warmer readings on Thursday as a warm front will be inching into the southern counties of the state where some 70s are certainly possible there. Thursday also looks to be the best chance of any severe weather that may occur in the state as well. We’ll continue to watch things as we move through the week for any possible changes that may occur.
NEXT WEEKEND: It looks like the sun will make a brief appearance across the state on Saturday with readings back into the 60s for the most part across the state. This will be before another storm looks to move in for Sunday into next Monday with another chance of showers and thunderstorms at that time.
BEYOND THAT: Looking further into the extended period, temperatures will briefly cool down next Tuesday (14th) before rebounding once again ahead of another system that the GFS has coming around the 16th or so. Cooler air will move back in again for a few days with temperatures moderating again ahead of another system that will be moving into the area at the end of the forecast period (21st). We’re likely to see quite a bit of precipitation over the next two weeks which is desperately needed across the state. It is also likely that we’re nowhere close to the last frost or freeze of the season, so don’t start planting your garden just yet.
