A COOL START: Some rain will move across the southern and eastern counties of the state early on today with skies clearing out by this afternoon. It will be much cooler with temperatures in the middle 40s to the lower 50s with partly to mostly sunny skies by afternoon. Readings will rebound to the upper 50s to near 70 from east to west on Saturday with sunny skies. Temperatures on Easter Sunday will be in the 60s and 70s with mostly sunny skies around.
ACTIVE WEEK AHEAD: Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms return to the state Monday and there will be little if any breaks between Monday and Friday. Some of the storms could bring decent amounts of rain. Severe weather is possible but we’ll need to watch model trends and outlooks from the Storm Prediction Center to get a better handle on that in coming reports. Temperature during the period will be in the 60s for the most part, with readings looking to drop back into the 50s toward the end of the week as the model is showing the state on the northern side of the last system in the sequence.
LOOKING FORWARD: As we look into the extended period, temperatures look to start out cooler following the storm system mentioned above with readings rebounding quickly back above seasonal levels as we near Tax Day April 15th. The weather also looks to turn active again at that time as well with another storm system moving in from the west. This system may bring us some more chances of showers and thunderstorms around the 16th and 17th with another system quickly moving in behind it at the end of the period. It does look like a wet pattern is in store for the state at this point however things can change with models from run to run so stay tuned.
