THE WEEK AHEAD: The work week will begin with temperatures warming well into the 60s and 70s across the state with mainly sunny skies around. The next storm system will move into the state on Wednesday. This will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours. Some of the storms could be strong to possibly severe. We’ll have a better handle on the chance of severe weather in the coming days. The rest of the week, temperatures will turn cooler as readings will drop back to near seasonal levels for the beginning of April. Another storm system will skirt the far southern and southeastern counties of the state on Friday with a chance of rain there. Elsewhere skies will be partly to mostly sunny.
NEXT WEEKEND: As we look into the weekend, temperatures will begin to rise once more ahead of the next system that looks to move into the state next Monday into early next Tuesday. Readings will be well into the 50s and 60s once again with partly to mostly sunny skies prior to the arrival of the storm on Monday.
MOVING THROUGH APRIL: As we look into the extended period, some cooler air looks to move back into the state following the system mentioned earlier but readings look to rebound as we head further through the week. The GFS has a few more systems moving through the area around the 10th-11th and again around the 14th that will bring chances of precipitation at that time. Temperatures during this period look to be near to slightly above seasonal levels but there will be some cooler days mixed in behind the storm systems. Active weather still looks likely for the next two weeks. We’ll see if this changes in the coming model runs.
