HEADING INTO NEXT WEEK: Some early morning showers will be possible with skies clearing from west to east later today. Readings will be held down in the eastern counties due to the amount of clouds around for quite a bit of the day. Readings in the lower and middle 50s will be possible there upper 50s to lower 60s across the western counties where sunshine should be out by mid-day. Readings will be well into the 50s and 60s and perhaps some 70s as well Monday through Wednesday. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny Monday and Tuesday, however the next storm system will be approaching on Wednesday bringing with it a chance of showers and thunderstorms. These look to last through the overnight into the morning hours of Thursday before the system moves off to the east.
NEXT WEEKEND: Looking into next weekend, the GFS shows mainly dry conditions around the state for the most part with readings a bit cooler Friday and Saturday before temperatures rebound on Sunday with south and southwesterly winds taking hold. The next system will be approaching the state from the west by late on Sunday and that may trigger another chance of showers and thunderstorms by the late afternoon into the evening hours. Timing may change with this system so stay tuned.
INTO THE DEPTHS OF APRIL: As we look into the extended period which takes us into the middle of the month of April, the GFS model has the storm we mentioned in the last paragraph moving through next Monday into next Tuesday morning with a chance of showers and thunderstorms at that time. Cooler air will follow in the wake of that system but only for a short time as another system toward the end of the week (9th and 10th) looks to move in with more precipitation chances as well. Another system around the 13th of April could bring more chances of precipitation at that time also. The underlying theme is the weather pattern continues to remain active with several chances of seeing precipitation over the next two weeks or so. We’ll see if this changes in the coming days or not.
