In association with this week’s Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa, the Iowa Weather Network has teamed up with WeatherRadios.com to help you keep you and your family safe this severe weather season!
You can enter NOW to enter a drawing for one of two Weather Radios that were provided by WeatherRadios.com. There will be two separate drawings, one that will be held this Friday (March 27), and another that will be held next Friday (April 3). The two types of WeatherRadios that we are giving away are the Midland WR300 and the Eton ZoneGuard. Both products are potentially live-saving tools that are a must during severe weather in the Midwest, by giving you the latest up-to-date watches, warnings, and advisories from the National Weather Service. Another plus, both offer S.A.M.E. technology, which allows you to have alerts for your specific area.
“Stay alert to conditions that affect you with Midland’s WR-300 all-hazard/weather alert radio. The unit offers S.A.M.E. technology (Specific Area Message Encoding), which pre-programs the device to receive only those warnings that apply to your local area–you can choose state, county, and/or nearby counties. The single-speaker radio offers 23 programmable county codes, AM/FM tuning, date, time, alarm functions, and automatically switches from AM/FM to pertinent all-hazard alerts.”
“The Eton ZoneGuard is a slim, sleek AM/FM weather alert radio. The ZoneGuard is designed to be a desktop/countertop radio, and it includes an AC adapter. Just plug it in, and it will remain silent until dangerous events unfold. When a local weather altert is issued by the National Weather Service, the ZoneGuard’s beacons will flash and it’s warnings will blare to alert you to the potential danger, and then the audio alert will be played to inform you in detail about the potential danger.”

The Iowa Weather Network is proud to have teamed up with WeatherRadios.com to bring you this years Weather Radio giveaway in alignment with Severe Weather Awareness Week 2015 in Iowa. WeatherRadios.com agreed to partner with us for this event in exchange for the promotion of their life-saving products.
The giveaway signup will be made available at 7:30 AM CDT on Monday, March 23, 2015 and continue through Friday, April 3, 2015. The first drawing for the Midland WR300 will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 and the second drawing for the Eton ZoneGuard on Friday, April 3, 2015. Applicants can enter in the form below this post with full name and email address being the only required information. The only requirements is that you fill out the form correctly and that you live in the 99 counties of Iowa (or surrounding counties + Crawford WI) and that you’re not a Iowa Weather Network team member.
Winners will be announced on our Facebook page, Twitter page, and this post. We will email to follow-up on where to deliver the weather radio to. If the winner does not respond to our email within a 15 day period, a new winner will be selected.
