The National Weather service has had winter weather advisories up for most of the day across far northeastern Iowa for some snow that has been falling in those areas. They have expanded it further southwest over time and have since triggered a Winter Storm Warning for Howard, Winneshiek, Allamakee and Clayton counties through the rest of the overnight hours. Several inches of snow has fallen in these areas already and totals from this system could reach 5-7 inches. Areas in the advisory could see a few inches while the rest of the state would see mainly a chance of some showers or a wintry mix the closer to the northeastern counties you are. Just because Spring arrived on Friday evening doesn’t mean winter can’t still come for a visit.
