Another great day across the state today as the girls basketball playoffs wraps up today with the class 3A, 4A, and 5A championships at 4:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 8:00 pm respectively. A quick congratulations to Newell-Fonda for winning the class 1A championship and Unity Christian for winning the class 2A championship, while going out undefeated at 27-0. Nonetheless, great weather today with high’s nearly hitting 50 in the Des Moines area with partly cloudy skies throughout the day. No big issues to speak of with light winds.

Good luck to all the teams playing today — class 4A championship looks to be a pretty great one with two undefeated’s, Harlan and Western Dubuque, playing for the championship.

State boys basketball forecasts will begin Monday with quarterfinals being played at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
