The heavy, wet snow falling across the state has been resulting in power outages in multiple areas. As of the time of this post MidAmerican Energy was reporting about 1000 customers without power in the state, and Alliant Energy is reporting about 6000 customers without power, with about 2,200 of those in Des Moines. With additional snowfall expected through the day today and winds forecast to increase we expect this to be an issue throughout the day.
