Those in the northern one-third of the state are beginning to see road conditions improve further. This trend should continue for the remainder of the state later in the overnight. However, travel is still not advised for most of east central Iowa with roads still completely covered for a large chunk of the state. Tow bans are out for nearly half of the state, and with this, cars are either stalling or getting stuck on the roads and can not get towed out, causing closures of roads. Currently, in southwest Iowa, US 6 between I-80 near Council Bluffs and I-80 near Lewis is closed. In east central Iowa, IA 136 between US 67 (Clinton) and the Mississippi River Bridge is closed.
