Sunny skies during Spring-Like warmth January 16th 2015

Everyone knew Friday was going to be a beautiful day, however what came as a surprise to many including myself was just how warm it got today! Temperatures ranged from the middle 40s around Marshalltown to the lower 60s towards Osceola. Sunny skies quickly depleted most of the snow cover in Southern and Central Iowa and this along with a warm front that surged north is what brought the added warmth. The only snow cover that remains is in Marshall County. This warm front also lead to a fairly impressive temperature difference which was 15 degrees only a 45 mile distance.  The warm up will last the next 3 days and we will certainly take it after last week!
