Winter Weather Advisory for NW Iowa until Tomorrow Morning

Snow has developed across the region this afternoon and will continue to do so into this evening and overnight. This snow will be moderate to potentially heavy at times, primarily between midnight and 5 AM or so. Freezing drizzle will be possible early this evening, however as temperatures cool, precipitation should transition to all snow overnight. Winds will be breezy at 15 to 25 MPH with some higher gusts possible. For these reasons, the National Weather Service has opted to issue a Winter Weather Advisory for most of northwestern Iowa until tomorrow morning. Travel will be hazardous in the advisory area overnight and through daybreak tomorrow as light to moderate snow and breezy winds lowers visibility. Storm total accumulations are expected to be in the two to four inch range northwest of a line from Forest City to Pocahontas to Denison.

Take appropriate cautions if traveling tonight. Stay tuned for further updates.
