ACTIVE WEATHER: The weather is going to become active once again as we head toward Christmas Day. Today will feature more clouds and more drizzle across the state. We may see some freezing drizzle, sleet or snow to start during the morning hours before temperatures rise enough for all drizzle. Highs today will be in the 30s and lower 40s across the state. The next system will move in later tonight and into Monday. We could see rain and or snow with this system with the best chance of the precipitation being rain across the far southern counties. Any snowfall is expected to be light with perhaps an inch or two. We will be able to fine tune this later today. Another system will move just to our east on Christmas Eve into Christmas Day with some snow. The only thing we may see from this would be some cloudiness, however there could be some changes regarding this as well. Another system to our west will come in from the west Christmas night into Friday with some light snow showers. This will also bring much colder air into the state at that time.

HEADING INTO NEW YEARS: Right after Christmas, arctic air will move in for the rest of the year. The GFS then shows that temperatures will moderate to near seasonal levels for the first few days of the new year. It looks relatively quiet at this point as well, but things could change in the coming days and weeks.
