A SLOW WARMING: Not a whole lot to talk about with regards to the weather over the next week. It looks fairly calm with temperatures slowly warming through the week toward the weekend. We may see some interesting weather when we get to that point. First off, skies will be slow to clear today as the system that moved through yesterday will be on the way out, taking with it any precipitation that may linger in the far eastern counties through mid-morning. Highs will be in the 30s east to the 40s west. A slight dip on Tuesday will be followed by warming temperatures through the week into the 40s and even 50s in some areas by the end of the week. Skies will be mainly sunny with a few clouds around from time to time.
THE NEXT SYSTEM: There is still a bit of uncertainty with regards to the next system coming in this coming weekend into Monday and even Tuesday of next week. Saturday looks to be the best day of the weekend with most of the moisture staying off to our west, however skies will be becoming more filled with clouds, however temperatures will still remain warm. Precipitation will move in Sunday and Sunday night through Monday. It should start out as rain but could changeover to some snow Monday or Monday night (we should be able to fine tune this in the coming days). It’s too early to determine a whole lot at this point, however amounts look to be light to perhaps moderate at this time. Stay tuned for more in the coming days.
LOOKING THROUGH THE YULETIDE: Heading into the extended period, there has been little consistency from model run to model run of late, however it is showing that temperatures are likely to be fairly close to average for middle December. The model is not showing any drastic polar plunges at this time so that’s good. It is showing a few systems that could give us either rain, snow or a combination of both. We’ll be watching those closely as time goes by.
