SOME ACTIVITY: The GFS continues to show some precipitation possible late tonight into the day on Friday across the far southern counties of the state. Any precipitation that does happen to fall there would be light generally under a tenth of an inch or so. The heaviest rainfall looks to remain to our south over Missouri at this time. What will be the case for most of the state today and tomorrow is more clouds around, however this is not going to affect temperatures a whole lot. Highs both today and Friday will be in the 30s and 40s across the state. As we head into the weekend, Saturday and Sunday look to remain warm with readings in the 30s and 40s once again. Saturday looks to be the better of the two days with plenty of sunshine around with some clouds here and there. Sunday will bring a disturbance into the state from the west. This could bring an isolated shower during the afternoon hours, but most places may get by with little more than a trace if that.
INTO NEXT WEEK: Another weak disturbance looks to move through on Wednesday which may bring some more precipitation to the state, but like the system on Sunday, some areas may only get by with a trace if that. Readings still look to remain near or above seasonal levels through the middle of next week.
FARTHER OUT: The GFS is showing a more active pattern as we move through the middle of the month with several storms of significance moving through the area. Two of particular interest are storms on the 15th through the 16th and again late on the 17th through the 19th. It’s way too early to determine particulars with these systems, but it is something we will watch as we move forward in time. Readings look to remain near to slightly above seasonal levels through the end of the period, but this may change in coming model runs. Stay tuned.
