THE QUIET WEEK CONTINUES: No real change in our thinking from yesterday for the next few days. It looks to remain fairly quiet across the state through at least the weekend. The GFS continues to show a system that may skirt the southeastern counties of the state with some precipitation Thursday night into Friday but the best chances look to remain south and southeast of the state. Trends have been moving it more north over the last few days, so if that trend continues, we could see a brief hiccup in the quiet activity this week. Readings will be mainly in the upper 20s through the 30s today with the slow warming trend continuing into the weekend where some 40s are certainly possible for quite a bit of the state. A cold front on Sunday could bring about an isolated rain or snow shower and some cooler readings on Monday before readings rebound once again.
LOOKING TOWARD MID-DECEMBER: The pattern does start to look more active as we head toward the middle of December with a few systems possibly making their way across the state. This looks to start next Wednesday with a system that could bring some light precipitation to the state. However the consistency has been lacking from run to run during this time period, so anything past seven days is up for debate. It does look like the warmer than average temperatures will continue through the middle of the month, but again this could change as well, although we see no signs of that at this time.
