A freezing rain advisory has been issued for the eastern half of the state tonight through the early morning hours on Saturday. Temperatures will be just below freezing but will be rising through the night. Rain will begin falling this evening and should last through the morning hours. It will not be raining the whole time, but any rain that does fall will freeze on contact due to the cold surface temperatures of the roadways etc. A tenth of an inch is possible with this event although some may get more than that, others may get less. Still, any ice will cause travel problems throughout the night and into the morning before road temperatures climb above freezing Saturday morning. If you are going to be out and about this evening and into the overnight, be sure to use caution and take plenty of time to get to your destination.
