THE BITTER COLD: No real change in the next couple of days as the cold weather will continue through the rest of the week and into the weekend and next week as well. During this time, a system will come through Saturday into Sunday morning with a chance of some light snow. Accumulations at this point look to be light, however this will be the first accumulating snow for most of the state outside the areas that saw some earlier this week. Highs through the period will be in the 20s and 30s across the state with nighttime readings in the upper single digits into the teens. Heading into next week, outside a slight flurry chance on Monday, the weather will remain dry for the most part with a possible moderation in temperatures as we look toward the end of next week.
BONANZA OF FUN: The extended period continues to show a few systems that could bring some precipitation to the state around the Thanksgiving Day Holiday. One such system may move through the day before Thanksgiving which could cause travel problems given that it’s the main travel day of the year. We’ve been seeing this over the last few model runs so the consistency is there, we’ll just have to wait for a clearer picture as we get closer to the time frame. Readings look to be a bit warmer than what we’re currently seeing but cold pushes of air from the north look to continue for some time.
