Slight Risk for Severe Weather in SE Iowa Today

1401

The Storm Prediction Center has a slight risk of severe weather for the southeastern quarter of Iowa. This is roughly south of a Dubuque to Cedar Rapids to Lamoni line. The main threats from any storms that could turn severe would be large hail and damaging winds. The best severe weather chances look to remain to our south across Missouri, Arkansas, eastern Oklahoma into northeastern Texas where there is a risk of a few tornadoes. The main window for any severe weather looks to be during the afternoon into the early evening hours before the threat shifts eastward. Anyone that may be traveling south today should be aware of any severe weather watches and warnings that may be issued and take the appropriate actions as needed.
