MAINLY DRY: The week ahead still looks mainly dry across the state. The exception will be a disturbance that could bring some showers and isolated thunderstorms across the western and central counties of the state Tuesday into the first half of Wednesday. The models don’t really show much of this moving into the eastern counties so the chances there will be minimal at this point. Outside of that, skies will be partly to mostly sunny with readings mainly near seasonal levels in the 70s.
NEXT WEEKEND: Skies will be mainly sunny with notable increase in clouds on Sunday ahead of the approaching system from the west. This will bring showers and a few thunderstorms into the state by next Monday at the earliest. Temperatures will likely be in the 70s and possibly some lower 80s depending on cloud cover that we could see on Sunday in the western counties.
FARTHER OUT: The extended period is a bit active with several systems that could impact the state as we head into the first few days of October. No real trends are being seen at this time, so confidence this far out is low. The storm that is forecast to move in next Monday looks to stick around through Wednesday, then a cut off low forms to our south and moves north bringing more precipitation to the state. We’ll see if this continues on upcoming model runs.
