COOL WEEKEND: Several cool days are in store across the state. Highs will be mainly in the 60s with lows in the 40s for next couple of days. Friday will be an exception as a disturbance will move across the state. This will bring some light to moderate rain across the area. This will hold readings down into the 50s for highs during the day. As the system moves out Friday night, lows are expected to drop into the 30s to around 40 by Saturday morning. However, if clouds hold tough longer, readings could be several degrees warmer. Some parts of the state, especially the northern counties could see a touch of light frost. Sunshine returns for the weekend with readings back into the 60s for highs at that time.

COOLER WEATHER CONTINUES: The GFS is showing another disturbance that may move through the state on Monday with rain possible at that time. This may hold readings down into the lower 60s for highs. Tuesday should be dry and partly to mostly sunny before another disturbance may bring more rain on Wednesday.

LOOKING AHEAD: A somewhat active period as we heading into the latter half of September with several systems moving through the state. Readings look to average out near seasonal levels, but there could be some warmer days included in that. We’ll continue to watch model trends in the coming days for any possible changes.
