MORE ACTIVITY ON THE WAY: As we move through the first couple days of September we will see partly to mostly sunny skies today with readings mainly in the 70s to lower 80s across the state. This will be short lived with a warm front slowly moving through the state Wednesday into early on Thursday. This will bring the chances of showers and thunderstorms back into the state at that time. It will also bring back warm and humid weather again on Thursday where readings may get well into the 80s and perhaps a few low 90s in some areas. This warm spell will also be short lived as a cold front will move into the state late Thursday night into the first half of Friday with showers and thunderstorms along it. Heading into the weekend, skies will be mostly sunny with readings in the 70s to around 80 and lows in the 50s and 60s across the state, overall a good weekend to get out and enjoy it.

HEADING THROUGH THE MONTH: Another system will be approaching as we head into the new work week Monday and next Tuesday with more showers and storms at that time. We have plenty of time to watch this in the coming days for any possible changes in the timing. Looking farther out, the pattern looks rather benign with a few systems here and there with a lot of dry time intermixed as well. Readings looks to average out near seasonal levels but there will be some warmer days around the 13th to 15th. We’ll keep watch in the coming days for any changes or trends in forthcoming model runs.
