REST OF WEEK: The chances of showers and thunderstorms won’t be going away anytime soon. There will be some chances of precipitation for the rest of the week off and on. This will not be all-day rains so there will be some dry periods intermixed as well. This may lead to some breaks of sunshine and readings climbing into the 80s at least. Otherwise where clouds will hold tough for most of the daylight hours, readings look to remain in the 70s. Some heavy rain is possible which may lead to some localized flash flooding. Be aware of that as we move through the week.
LABOR DAY WEEKEND: The chances of precipitation look to wane as we head into the weekend, but they don’t look to go totally away. There looks to be more sun than rain (But this could change), with readings a few degrees either side of 80. The GFS continues to show chances of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday into Sunday and then again Monday (mainly in the morning into early afternoon). We’ll see if this continues on upcoming model runs as I’m not too confident in the precipitation lasting into the holiday weekend, but we’ll see.
SEPTEMBER: Looking farther into the month of September, the main storm track looks to stay across the northern tier of the country with a ridge seemingly holding firm over the south. This would bring some storms across the area with showers and thunderstorms at that time. The GFS is hinting at several frontal systems stalling out across the area which may bring heavy rains once again across the state. This is still more than a week out and we’ll see if this continues in the coming days model runs.
