NO BIG CHANGES: A cold front will come into the state later today which will bring a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms across the area. The best chances albeit not great will be in the eastern half of the state, but some places even there may get little to nothing. Highs today will be in the upper 80s to middle 90s. Heat indices will again approach or exceed 100 again. Make sure you take all precautions if you’re going to be outside for any length of time. The cold front moves through with that shower and storm threat tonight into early Wednesday. We will see clearing skies and sunshine for most of the day with readings in the upper 70s to middle 80s across the state with humidity a lot lower so it will feel more comfortable outside.

INTO THE WEEKEND: The next storm system will move into the state Thursday and Friday with another chance of showers and thunderstorms at that time. This chance looks better than the chance today at this point. Readings will remain in the upper 70s to middle 80s during this time. A system will drop in from the northwest on Sunday that could bring some showers and perhaps a thunderstorm at that time as well. Readings will remain in the upper 70s to lower and middle 80s for highs both Sunday and into Monday as well but could be cooler if we see more clouds around.

LOOKING FARTHER OUT: A trough will dig in across the east which looks to keep readings slightly below seasonal levels for the end of July and early August. We may have some systems move through from time to time but timing those out this far in advance is tricky. We’ll keep watching for anything concrete but don’t expect that anytime soon.
