SLIGHTLY COOLER: More comfortable temperatures and lower humidity will be in the state for a few days with plenty of sunshine to go around. We still can’t rule out an isolated pop up shower in the afternoon but these will be few and far between. Readings will be mainly in the 70s to lower 80s. Lows are expected to be in the 50s and 60s.

THE RETURN OF STORMS: The pattern becomes active once again Thursday night through the weekend with some disturbances and a frontal system approaching from the west. This will give us numerous chances of seeing showers and thunderstorms across the state. We don’t see an all-day rain out of any of this, so there will be some dry time intermixed with the stormy time. Severe weather is not out of the question, but it is too early to determine that risk at this time. Readings will be in the upper 70s through the 80s during this time.

HEADING BEYOND: A cooler weather pattern looks to take shape heading into next week as a trough digs in across the Great Lakes. This also would bring more chances of seeing some precipitation around as well, with several storms possible during the period. A ridge tries to take hold off to our west through the end of the period but the GFS continues to show a northwesterly flow and slightly cooler than average readings. We’ll see if this continues on model runs upcoming.
