Thunderstorms across north central Iowa are continuing to weaken and move off to the east. These storms do not pose a severe weather threat and should be out of the state by 4:00 PM. Small hail, heavy rain, and gusty winds will be the primary threats with the stronger storms there.

The newest story is a likely watch that will be issued across Nebraska and a small portion of northwest Iowa by 4:00 PM. Storms are expected to begin developing and turn supercellular this afternoon with very large hail to two inches, damaging wind gusts to 80 MPH, and an isolated tornado or two the primary threat. The Storm Prediction Center has also kept the moderate risk of severe weather for west central Iowa and surrounding areas.
