THE WEEK AHEAD: More showers and thunderstorms will be possible today with another disturbance moving through. This will linger into Tuesday with rainfall amounts generally around a quarter to half inch although some isolated heavier totals will be possible. Highs today will be in the upper 60s to middle 70s with Tuesday seeing lower to middle 70s across the state with slowly clearing skies from west to east during the day. Wednesday will see a brief break from the rainfall with plenty of sunshine and highs mainly in the 70s. This will be ahead of the next system that will come through on Thursday that will bring another round of showers and thunderstorms at that time. It’s too early to determine if there will be any severe weather with this system but we’ll certainly be on the watch for it if that trends begins to form. Friday will begin with some clouds and a few showers and lingering storms in the eastern counties of the state with partly to mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. Highs Thursday and Friday will be mainly in the 70s across the state.
THE WEEKEND AHEAD: The next storm system will be approaching from the west as we head into the weekend. This will bring another chance of showers and thunderstorms at that time. This looks to linger into Monday as well. Highs this weekend look to be in the 70s with some readings possibly not even getting out of the upper 60s depending on the amount of cloud cover and rain.
THE EXTENDED PERIOD: After next weekend, the pattern on this run starts out with a slightly cooler than average temperature scheme with several systems coming through with some chances of precipitation. The pattern becomes more zonal toward the end of the period which would see near seasonal temperatures by that point, however we have seen many scenarios over the last few days so nothing is set in stone yet.
