STORMY TIMES: Today will see some sunshine around with highs mainly in the upper 70s to middle 80s across the state. There is a chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon mainly in the western counties of the state. The main activity will come through later tonight into early Wednesday. This could bring some severe weather along with it. See the post on the severe weather outlook for tonight into Wednesday. During the day Wednesday we could see showers and thunderstorms remaining for quite a bit of the day in the eastern counties while the west begins to clear and some sunshine will peak through. Readings will be back down into the 70s to near 80 with the amount of cloud cover around mainly in the eastern half to three quarters of the state.
SLIGHTLY CALMER: A relative calm will move through Thursday and most of Friday before another storm system moves in late Friday night through early on Sunday. This system could bring more showers and thunderstorms to the state, however it is still too early to determine any severe weather risks this far in advance. Highs during this period will be in the middle to upper 70s cooling into the lower 70s by Sunday.
BEYOND THAT: Slightly cooler conditions look to last through at least Tuesday before another system moves in with another round of showers and thunderstorms at that time. Beyond that time, the GFS is showing a few systems moving through but no real trends at this point. We’ll stick with just the next 7 days at this time.
