Iowa Weather Report May 31st 2014

STORMS: We’re heading into a period with scattered showers and storms each afternoon and possibly overnight into the early morning hours as well. This looks to last from Saturday through Wednesday before drier moves in late Wednesday into Thursday. Highs during this time will be in the 80s to lower 90s across the state. This will be followed by a two day break before the active weather looks set to return the following weekend. Some severe weather is possible but looks to be somewhat disorganized at this point. What looks to be known is the amount of rainfall which could be significant and may lead to some localized flooding in some areas. This will also not be all-day rains as there will be plenty of dry periods during this time with some partly to mostly sunny skies. This should not cancel any outdoor plans by any means.

AND BEYOND: A few cooler days and some possible active weather are seen in the extended period. Readings would be a bit cooler around the 10th of June before warming to near seasonal levels. There is no real trends developing at this time but in the summertime those aren’t likely to be forthcoming.
