The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight Risk of severe weather for today into tonight for the eastern half of the state roughly along and east of Interstate 35. The main threat would be from large hail, however an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out along with some strong gusty winds as well. There is still some uncertainty as to whether the storms will be able to redevelop later this afternoon after the round of storms moves out this morning. If we are able to clear out like yesterday, we would be able to get some storms to fire. Along with the ample supplies of moisture and shear, some of these storms could become severe during the afternoon into the evening hours before they move east of the state after Sunset. This doesn’t look to be as nasty as on Sunday, but nevertheless anyone in the risk area should be aware of the conditions in your area during the afternoon and evening hours and pay attention to any watches and warnings that may be issued.
