VIDEOS DISCONTINUED TEMPORARILY
COLD AND SHOWERY: This stubborn upper level low will continue to sit and spin for the next few days with chances of showers off and on today, tomorrow and even into early Friday. Highs will struggle in the 40s and 50s during this time with mainly cloudy skies outside the shower chances. Lows at night will drop into the 30s and lower to middle 40s.
WEEKEND INTO NEXT WEEK: It finally warms up and the sun breaks out as we head into the weekend with readings climbing back into the 50s and 60s across the state. A disturbance on Sunday may kick off an isolated shower but it should remain mainly dry across a good portion of the state. More warm air comes Monday into Tuesday with readings climbing into the 60s and 70s with partly to mostly sunny skies. There will be some chances of showers and isolated thunderstorms by Tuesday ahead of the next system that will move in from the west. The better chances of showers and thunderstorms will come Wednesday through Friday next week as the storm moves into the region. It’s too early to determine if there will be any severe weather with this system but we’ll monitor it in the coming days.
LOOKING AHEAD: The rest of the extended period, which goes through the middle of May, looks rather active with several storm systems bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms with them. The GFS is showing some cooler air toward the end of the period but mainly readings look to remain near seasonal levels through the period.
