SCATTERED RAIN: There will be a chance of seeing some scattered rain showers today and Monday across the state. There will also be some breaks in the cloudiness and some sunshine may peak through as well. Any rainfall amounts through Monday are expected to under a quarter of an inch. Highs today and Monday will be in the middle 50s to lower 60s for highs.
WARMING UP: Sunshine will be back in full force across the state on Tuesday. Highs will be in the 50s and lower 60s across the state. Wednesday will see the winds out of the southwest and highs soaring into the 60s and 70s across the state. With the southwesterly winds and dry air around, this could bring the possibility of wildfires especially in the southwestern counties of the state. We’ll have to keep an eye on that. Thursday will be a bit cooler but most places should still see some 60s to lower 70s across the state. A cold front will move through the state on Thursday afternoon but with little moisture along it, all we’ll see is a few clouds and nothing more than that at this point. Partly to mostly sunny skies will be around on Friday with readings in the upper 50s through the lower and middle 60s across the state.
NEXT WEEKEND AND BEYOND: A cold front looks to move through next weekend which may trigger some showers and thunderstorms along it. Any chance that these storms could be severe will be determined in a few days or so. Much colder air comes in Monday with readings likely falling back into the 40s for highs before rebounding back to near seasonal levels by the middle of the week. Another storm could bring some shower and thunderstorm activity around the 18th as well. Throughout the period readings look to be near seasonal levels outside the first couple of days which will be below average, however this may change as it is still fluid at this point and no real “trend” has set up as yet.
