WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK: Mostly sunny skies will be around the state today with readings climbing into the 40s and 50s. The clouds return late tonight into Sunday with a chance of some light rain mainly in the western half of the state while the eastern half could see a few breaks in the clouds and some sunshine. Highs on Sunday will be in the middle 50s to lower 60s. We still could see a chance of some rain heading into Monday as well with readings in the 50s to near 60. Tuesday will be cooler as highs drop back into the upper 40s through the 50s but much warmer weather is in store for the end of next week.
MORE WARMTH AHEAD: Wednesday and Thursday will bring the winds back around from the southwest and readings will be back into the upper 50s through the 60s. We may even see a few 70s in the southern and western counties of the state. A cold front will sweep through late Thursday night into Friday which may bring a few clouds but little if any moisture. That front will move back north as a warm front later Friday night into next Saturday as the next storm takes shape off to our west and southwest. This may be the next big storm system to effect the area at that time. We still have a week to watch it so we’ll see if anything changes.
MOVING FORWARD: Several systems look to move through the state during the extended period. This includes the one next weekend that we spoke of earlier and another one around the 16th and 17th. Both of these could bring some showers and thunderstorms at that time, but it’s way too early to determine anything else besides that at this point. Behind the storms we will see some brief cooling but nothing of any significance. Another system looks to be approaching the area at the end of the period, but we have plenty of time and several storms to get through before we get to that one.
