All of Iowa, Severe Weather

March 31st Early Evening Update

862

A line of showers and thunderstorms is moving through central Iowa and about ready to move into eastern Iowa. Some of these storms have been strong to at times severe with some hail and winds gusting up to and over 50mph. The line of thunderstorms is moving NE around 40-45mph. These storms may drop some small hail and bring some gusty winds and some cloud to ground lightning. If you hear thunder, you will need to get inside a sturdy structure until the storm moves away. West of this line, the winds have switched around to the west and continue to be gusty. Readings have plummeted into the 30s and 40s in western Iowa. This colder air will continue to sweep through the state through the evening into the overnight hours. Be sky aware tonight as the storms continue to roll through.
