THROUGH THE WEEKEND: You better get out and enjoy the day today because colder air will be moving in this weekend and will last for the rest of the coming week. There will be plenty of sunshine around the state today with readings in the 40s through the lower 60s southeast. The cold front will move through tonight bringing with it mainly some clouds with the precipitation mainly staying north of the state. Lows tonight drop into the upper teens north to near 30 south. Highs on Saturday will be noticeably colder with readings in the upper 20s north to the lower and middle 40s southeast. Sunday will see similar readings as well with partly to mostly sunny skies around ahead of the next disturbance that will be moving in on Monday.

IT DOESN’T FEEL LIKE SPRING: The new work week will not feel like spring at all with more snow in the forecast on Monday into the day on Tuesday. Accumulations are possible, but it’s a bit early to be exact at this time. Winds will switch around to the southwest on Wednesday which will begin to help rebound readings; however readings are likely to remain in the 30s northeast to lower 50s southwest. Of course we have to consider the possibility of having a snow pack as well which may keep temperatures down as well. We’ll have to wait and see on that.

THURSDAY AND NEXT FRIDAY: Another system will move into the state Thursday into next Friday. This may bring some rain to the state followed by a transition to a wintry mix or some snow late Thursday night into Friday as the storm departs. It’s way too early to determine amounts at this time, but it is a storm system we will be watching closely in the coming days.

ON INTO APRIL: After a brief cool off to end the month of March, readings will rebound back to seasonal readings ahead of the next system that may move in around the 1st and 2nd of April. The GFS is showing that there could be a chance to see some showers and perhaps even some thunderstorms with this system if this verifies. A few more systems look interesting as well in the first few days of April, but we’ll have to watch for any trends before really diving into them.
