A large area of snow is currently moving southeasterly across the state. Much of the snow across north central and central Iowa likely is not reaching the ground. However, light snow is currently the story across west central Iowa.

Snowfall rates of roughly a half inch per hour is possible across Shelby county over the next half hour or so as that specific area continues to produce moderate snow.
