The next winter storm is upon us once again with a little bit of everything coming at us. The precipitation is expected later this evening into the overnight hours and the first half of Monday. This will bring some freezing rain, sleet and snow across the area. The heaviest snow looks to be across the northern and northeastern counties of the state where 4-6″ of snow are possible with lighter amounts to the south and west. Along with the snow, some freezing rain and sleet could be possible across the southwestern half of the state. Some of those amounts could reach up to a tenth of an inch which may lead to some hazardous travel conditions. The Advisories are in effect through the early morning hours in the western counties. Midday across the central counties and early to mid-afternoon in the eastern counties. The Winter Storm Warning in NC and NE Iowa is in effect until 3pm for where the heaviest snows may fall by Monday evening.
