MORE WINTER TO GO: Two more storms to look out for in the coming days. One of them moves through the state today with some light snow. Accumulations at this time look to be around 1-3” with some areas in the far southern counties possibly getting by with little more than a dusting or even any snow as this system is mainly going to target the northern half into the eastern counties of the state. This system moves off tonight and Sunday will see partly sunny skies around with readings in the 20s and 30s for highs. The next system is a bit more complex as it moves in Sunday night into Monday. This will bring some snow in the northern counties, some wintry mix and freezing rain possible in the southern counties. As temperatures warm on Monday, some of the precipitation may change over to some rain before ending in the western and central counties while the east may stick with some snow and or wintry mix there. Current thinking is some light accumulations of snow and perhaps a few hundredths of an inch of ice could be possible in the eastern counties of the state with this system. We’ll continue tracking the storm through the weekend with any changes that may arise.

NEXT WEEK: Warmer temperatures will move back into the state next week with readings back into the 30s and 40s through the middle of next week. There will be plenty of sunshine Monday through Wednesday across the state. The next storm will move in Thursday which could bring some more wintry mix at that time. Current thinking is that the precipitation amounts will be light but we’ll watch for any changes in the coming days. Behind the system, readings look to drop back into at least the 30s across the state with partly to mostly sunny skies around.

NEXT WEEKEND AND BEYOND: Another storm is on track to move into the state next Saturday. This could bring some snow to the state at that time. This would be followed by a shot of colder air that may drop readings back into the 20s for highs at that time. This would be followed a periodic shots of cold air from the northwest with some chances of snow with each passing system. Currently there is really no trends popping out at the moment but we’ll continue to watch.
