Winds are expected to remain brisk this evening before slowly diminishing below Wind Advisory criteria. By Thursday, strong and gusty northwest winds will return Thursday with the highest winds expected during Thursday evening. Sustained winds of 30 to 40 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH are possible on Thursday. This will create difficult driving conditions on Thursday for all vehicles, especially high profile or light ones. Also, consider securing or sheltering outdoor objects such as garbage cans or lawn furniture.

Snow is also anticipated on Thursday with light accumulations expected. However, if the forecast for snow increases, the National Weather Service says portions of the watch may need to be upgraded to winter weather products.

A High Wind Watch means that there is potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph, or gusts of 48 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
