SNOW AND SUN: The snow will be moving out of the state later today as the system moves off to the east. Colder but not brutally cold air will move back into the state into the early part of next week. A few disturbances may clip the state with some light snow or flurries Sunday night through Tuesday with little more than a dusting possible with them. Readings will likely drop back into the teens to lower 20s for highs through at least Monday with some moderation toward the end of the week.
NEXT STORM: This run has the next system seemingly breaking apart into two pieces both of which miss the state entirely. This model run does show some rain possible Thursday as readings may climb back above the freezing mark if this is to be correct. Then as the cold air filters in Thursday night into Friday the precipitation may change over to light snow or flurries before ending at one piece moves to our east and another moves to our southwest, cutting off the moisture flow to our area. The southern most storm may then clip the southeastern half of the state with some snow next weekend as it lifts to the northeast across the Ohio Valley and the Great Lakes.
TIS THE SEASON: The cold air just blows into the state for the rest of the period with this run much drier than all previous runs. This would keep a lot of the snow chances away from the state at this time, but the temperatures would likely remain below seasonal levels through Christmas and possibly through the end of the year. We’ll have to see if the dry and cold pattern continues on future model runs or it trends back to a bit wet (or in this case white) and cold over the next few days.
