SEASONAL READINGS: This weekend will see mainly sunny skies, some breezy conditions and temperatures near seasonal levels. Highs today will be in the upper 40s north with 50s everywhere else. Sunday will see readings a few degrees cooler with 40s north to lower 50s south.

HERE COMES THE COLD: A cold front will blast through the state Monday bringing with it some of the coldest air we’ve seen since early last spring. With it could come some light snow showers that may lightly accumulate but nothing too significant at this time. Temperatures will tumble to the 30s for highs and lows in the teens and lower 20s. This looks to last through Wednesday as winds switch to the west and southwest at that time which will help to moderate the readings.

THEREAFTER: A weak disturbance may kick off a shower Thursday as another push of colder air will arrive. This won’t be as big as the one earlier in the week as it will likely drop readings out of the 50s back to the 40s. Some rain next Saturday followed by another nasty arctic push of cold air could bring some snow late Sunday into Monday the 18th. This looks to be quite significant at this point but given the run yesterday showed very little around the area, we’ll take this with a grain of salt at this time. We’ll continue to monitor this however. It looks dry through the end of the period with moderating temperatures followed by brief cool spells.
